Google Ads connection requirements
- Only individual Google Ads accounts can be linked to SalesTitan; Google Ads manager accounts are not compatible. Each Google Ads account managed within a manager account should be connected to SalesTitan separately.
- Disconnected Google Ads accounts are unable to be linked to SalesTitan. If a linked Google Ads account is cancelled, it will automatically disconnect from SalesTitan, displaying an error in the platform. Refer to Google’s documentation for guidance on reactivating cancelled accounts.
- When connecting your Google Ads account and using the SalesTitan Ads tool, ensure that any ad blocker extensions in your browser are turned off.
For successful connection, the SalesTitan user must have the following permissions:
- In SalesTitan, the user needs Publish access to the Ads tool.
- In the corresponding Google Ads account, the user requires Admin access.
- Verify the access level for any user by clicking the Tools dropdown menu and selecting Access.
It’s important to note that SalesTitan cannot track or report on Smart Campaigns, previously known as Google Express Campaigns. If your Google Ads account is newly created, it defaults to Smart Mode. While in Smart Mode, all ads are set up as Smart Campaigns.
To confirm if your account is in Smart Mode:
- Log in to your Google Ads account.
- If the URL starts with ads.google.com/aw/express, your account is in Smart Mode.
- To switch to Expert Mode, click Tools in the top menu, then select Switch to Expert Mode.
Connect your Google Ads account
Integrate your Google Ads account with SalesTitan. If you encounter any issues during the connection process, refer to our troubleshooting guide.
Within your SalesTitan account, click on the settings icon in the main navigation bar.
- Navigate to Marketing > Ads in the left sidebar menu.
- Access the Accounts tab and select Connect account.
- In the dialog box, opt for Google Ads.
- Log in to your Google account using the associated email address for your Google Ads account and click Allow.
If your Google account is linked to existing Google Ads accounts, you’ll find each account listed. Select the checkboxes next to the accounts you wish to connect to SalesTitan and click Connect.
For users without an existing Google Ads account, creation is possible directly within SalesTitan. Configure your account details in the dialog box:
- Ad account name: Provide a name for your ad account.
- Email address: Enter the email used to log in to your Google account.
- Time zone: Choose a timezone for your Google Ads account.
- Currency: Select a currency for your Google Ads account; note that this currency remains fixed and cannot be altered later.
- Select Create account.
- Access the link “Go to your new Google ad account settings and add your billing information” to finalize your account setup within Google Ads in a new browser tab.
Once billing information is added in your Google Ads account, return to the original tab and click “I’ve added billing information.”
Review your connected Google ads accounts
Upon integrating your Google Ads account, all connected accounts will be visible in your Ads Accounts settings within SalesTitan. Once the Google Ads account is linked, additional users can be connected to facilitate the management and creation of ad campaigns. Disconnection of ad accounts is also possible within your ads settings.
Keep in mind that if your ad account encounters billing problems, violates Google’s ad policies, or remains inactive for an extended period, SalesTitan will designate the account as Inactive. To resolve this matter, review your Google Ads account settings and consult Google’s support resources.
Manage your Google ads connection with HubSpot’s manager account
After successfully linking your Google Ads account, you’ll receive an email confirming the connection of your Google Ads account to the manager account SalesTitan Customer MCC. A manager account functions as a Google account that enables SalesTitan to oversee and analyze advertising performance across users’ ad accounts.
Linking your Google Ads account to HubSpot’s manager account allows HubSpot to:
- Raise concerns about your account with GoogleEnables you to generate audiences for your Google ads using SalesTitan’s ads tool.
- Qualifies you for beta products and additional perks that Google offers to SalesTitan customers.
Please also note the following:
- Connecting your Google Ads account to SalesTitan’s manager account is not essential for the fundamental contact tracking and reporting features in SalesTitan’s ads tool. Learn how to detach SalesTitan’s manager account (SalesTitan Customer MCC) from your Google Ads account.
- If the billing in your Google Ads account defaults to the manager account, you may observe some alterations from SalesTitan Customer MCC in your account. To prevent such changes, ensure that your Google Ads account’s billing is configured for the account and not set to default to the manager account.
Important note: Your utilization of the Google Ads integration is subject to the Google Ads Terms and Conditions. SalesTitan will have the ability to view and manage your account and will store your Google Ads account number. When you authorize the integration, SalesTitan receives a user token with permissions on the connected ad accounts. SalesTitan can view but does not store all the ad accounts you have permission for. Google will disclose settings details (e.g., name, budget, bid strategy, creative) and performance metrics (impressions, clicks, etc.) for all campaigns, ad groups, and ads in the ad accounts you connected.
